Howard Lincoln is an American businessman who is best known for his time as the chairman of the Seattle Mariners baseball team. He was born on March 6, 1940, in Oakland, California. Lincoln graduated from Stanford University with a degree in political science and then went on to attend Harvard Law School.
Lincoln began his career as a lawyer and later joined Nintendo of America in 1983 as the general counsel. He played a key role in helping Nintendo navigate through the video game industry and was eventually named the chairman of the company in 1994.
In 1999, Lincoln became the chairman of the Seattle Mariners after Nintendo acquired a majority stake in the team. During his tenure, he helped lead the team to multiple playoff appearances and was instrumental in negotiating various player contracts and stadium deals.
